What goes around comes around. For the last six years the democratic party has allowed its loony far left faction to run the show in order to win elections; the virulent, hypocritically anti business rhetoric made the trick and Mr Obama won not only one, but two elections. Elections have consequences, as he often claims, and the activist in chief did all he could to change America's narrative from that of self fulfillment to one of government dictating who deserves to succeed and who does not. The amount of people receiving some sort of aid grew exponentially and terms like self made, aggressive, or any word depicting man's role in the shaping of his own destiny have become heresies.
Having America been a fundamentally centrist nation through its entire history, such drastic turn was no doubt a gambit, but the Fabians thought it was worthwhile taking the chance and they almost got away with it until an endless chain of unfortunate events pushed the administration to its very limit and gave all of us the impression of being governed by a handful of clumsy functionaries with no idea of how to run a company, let along the most powerful nation on earth.
Beyond all conciliatory and self serving analysis, the left radicalization has suffered a serious setback and they know it. Moreover, terrorized about the effect the incendiary language used by some and the aloofness and detachment shown by the incumbent could hurt them politically; several democrats running for office distanced themselves from Mr. Obama and even criticized some of his decisions; in hind sight, it backfired. It gave the electorate a sense of flip flopping and opportunism.
In this context, a unilateral presidential move on immigration is only logical since it would proceed in the direction of reshaping America's demographics and enhancing the political base for those dreaming of the Socialist United States of America. Make no mistake, the battle has just begun.
