THE DAY AFTER

So Romney won the debate and nobody can deny that; the problem is one debate, and even several debates could not be enough to get him elected. His performance was businesslike, deferential and yet relentless, and it unveiled like never before the fragility and precariousness Obama's platform. Romney is probably the kind of president any company should have, but do we share holders of this big company known as the US of A want him as president?; I'm not sure.

Huge sectors of the electorate have been bombarded for years with news about Mitt's disdain for the poor, his abuse of the tax system, and his past record as a hatchet man for big money; it's an uphill battle and Team Obama will do all they can to keep it that way. Hispanics claim illegal immigrants will be raided if Romney wins, but hardly ever remember the president had the 60 votes for more than a year and did nothing to put forth an immigration reform; for them, as for many others, the election is already over.

For the first time the president was not able to throw figures and fabricated facts with impunity. Mitt cornered him several times hammering his message and correcting distorted numbers and it showed. the president was annoyed and at times looked tired and uncomfortable. If anything the election has become more interesting and if it weren't for the fact that our lives highly depend on its outcome it would even be amusing. One thing is certain: the system is in dire need of a shake up, probably not the kind of shake up the left loonies and pinko journalists have in mind, but a shake up just the same...
